Lucky Lizard Journal is a poetry journal dedicated to showing the world art that deserves to be called POETRY.
Established in 2023, Lucky Lizard Journal is a newer poetry journal on the block. We look for all sorts of poetry, holding no biases (except against perhaps radically prosaic, experimental pieces), but with an emphasis on remembering and rejoicing history as it was as well as how it is soon to be. More traditional, archaic, or lyrical pieces are welcome here! Feel free to submit contemporary as well, or haikus, sonnets, couplets, limericks, epics; we love it all!
A note from the founder:
Lucky Lizard Journal is named after a toy that I got on a family vacation when I was a young boy. It was a trip to the Canary Islands and I was quite young, just a few years on this planet. One of my few memories of the trip includes finding a little stand outside of the town set up by the rocky shoreline. I walked away from the stand with a little green lizard and I ended up naming him Lucky. A picture of him is scattered around the site!
